The story behind GospelSlides

About GospelSlides

My name is George Siafa, and I’m the developer behind GospelSlides.

GospelSlides started from a simple need I saw while serving in my local church, Cardiff Full Gospel Assembly in Cardiff, Wales. Like many churches, we regularly project hymns, worship songs and Scripture for the congregation, and I saw first-hand some of the challenges that can come with preparing songs, managing slides and making everything work smoothly during a service.

Being a software developer, I felt I could use the skills God has given me to build something that would make this easier.

What initially began as a solution for our own local assembly soon became something I felt could be useful to other churches too. If we had this need, surely there were other churches and fellowships facing the same challenges.

And that is how GospelSlides began.

The Heart Behind GospelSlides

For me, GospelSlides is more than just another software project.

I created it with a desire to use what I know and what I have been given to help, in whatever small way I can, in the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Technology itself cannot preach the Gospel or change a heart — only God can do that. But I believe it can be used as a tool to support those who are faithfully serving.

Whether it is helping a congregation sing together, displaying a Scripture while the Word is being preached, helping a song leader prepare their songs before a service, or showing lyrics clearly to those watching online, the purpose of GospelSlides is simply to make that part of the work easier.

Why GospelSlides Is Free

From the beginning, I wanted GospelSlides to be free for churches to use.

Not every church has a large media team, expensive presentation software or people with extensive technical experience. Sometimes it is simply one person at the back of the church doing their best to keep everything running while the service is going on.

I understand that because that is where GospelSlides came from.

My desire is that churches can spend less time worrying about preparing and operating slides and more time focusing on what really matters — worship, the Word of God and the Gospel.

From Our Local Church to Yours

GospelSlides was born out of a need at Cardiff Full Gospel Assembly, but my prayer is that its usefulness will go far beyond our own local assembly.

I hope it can be a blessing to churches, fellowships and believers wherever it is used.

The platform will continue to grow and improve as I see new needs and receive feedback from those using it, but the reason behind it will remain the same:

To freely provide a simple and useful tool that helps churches in worship, the presentation of Scripture and the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

If GospelSlides can help even one church, one song leader, one media team, or one brother or sister faithfully serving behind the scenes, then the time and effort that has gone into building it has been worthwhile.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

— Mark 16:15

To God be all the glory.

Free for the church. For the gospel.

Use GospelSlides to put hymns, worship songs, and Scripture on the projector — so more attention can stay on worship, the Word, and the gospel.
